Kenny (not his real name) came to the Pregnancy Resource Center because he and his girlfriend did not have money to obtain diapers and wipes for his newborn son. The baby was born a little over a month ago and as new parents, they didn’t realize how much having a new baby would cost.
Kenny works full time during the day and cares for his little one in the evenings. His girlfriend recently went back to work and is a home healthcare nurse throughout the night. Although not the perfect plan, they are doing their best to make ends meet. He shared that the mother of the baby was struggling so he was helping to run errands and care for his new son to allow the mother of the baby to rest and recover. She had the weekends off and was feeling worn out. He went on to share that he needed a cradle and thankfully we had one available.
Seeing that Kenny was overwhelmed, yet trying to do all he could to support and encourage his young family, we talked to him about the Fatherhood Coaching program. We let him know that we could connect him with a coach who could help him stay focused, pray for him and help him sort through the many emotions and struggles he might encounter with a new baby.
The Fatherhood Coaching program is available to any father who needs encouragement or someone to talk with. Its free of charge and our team of men work to find a schedule that works with you. You don’t have to walk this path alone.
