Core Documents

Christianity is central to the purpose and mission of the Pregnancy Center. It is the Center’s policy to be staffed, whether by employees or volunteers, with only committed disciples of Jesus Christ. We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of the purposes and mission of our organization, and to provide a biblical role model to the clients we serve and members of the community, it is imperative that all persons working at the organization in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, are to be in agreement with the provisions set forth here and the mission statement and objectives of the Center. Consequently, all employees and volunteers are expected to annually review and affirm his or her agreement with the core documents listed below as a condition of affiliation with the Center, both in terms of doctrinal belief and practical application. Violation of these principles shall constitute cause for discipline up to and including termination.  I Timothy 4:12b and Philippians 1:27

Statement of Faith
  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the infallible, authoritative Word of God. 2 Tim 3:16-17
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons—The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. John 15:26, John 3:16-17, 1 Cor 8:6
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood for the forgiveness of sin, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. Matt 1:23, 1 Cor 15:3b – 4; Act 2:32-33
  • We believe that for the salvation of a lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential, and that this salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and not as a result of good works. Rom 3:23 Eph 2:8-10, Gal 5:22-23
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and to perform good works. Acts 1:8, Eph 5:18-19
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. 1 Cor 15:21-22, Matt 7:13-14, Rev 20:15
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. John 17:22-23, Eph 4:3

The Nicene Creed

  • I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
  • I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
  • I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
  • I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including all pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect and value all human life. Psalm 119:73, 139:13, Isaiah 44:2 & 24.

We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of monogamous marriage between a biological male and a biological female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female and these two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Genesis 1:26-27 and 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6- 9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9.

The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe as interpreted and applied by our governing board. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible Word of God and the final authority concerning morality and conduct of mankind. For purposes of the Center’s religious foundations, our board of directors in consultation with Pastoral input is the final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.

  • We believe the Bible is the authoritative Word of God and provides guidance for our lives.
  • We are conscious of the fact that everything we do, directly or indirectly, has the potential to reflect upon the Center as a whole.
  • We always conduct ourselves with openness, forthrightness, and honesty in dealing with people and organizations, both internally and externally.

  • We give accurate information about pregnancy, fetal development, lifestyle issues, and related concerns. We do not offer, recommend or refer for abortions or abortifacients, but we are committed to offering accurate information about abortion procedures and risks.
  • We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. We believe in the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman as taught in the Bible. Therefore, all staff and volunteers commit to a lifestyle of sexual purity and will refrain from engaging in any sexual relationships outside the bonds of Christian marriage.
  • We live a lifestyle consistent with biblical values.
  • All “conflict of interest” relationships will be avoided with board members, staff, suppliers, those we serve, and other organizations with whom we deal, unless disclosed and approved.

Who We Are

In 1995, after five years of planning, we opened our first Center in Madras. We were first known as Crisis Pregnancy Center, but in time changed our name to the Pregnancy Resource Centers of Central Oregon to better describe the wide variety of services we offer. Our Madras Center closed briefly, but reopened in 2022., and we currently operate four Centers: Bend, Madras, Redmond, Prineville. We are a faith-based organization and are not affiliated with religious entities and offer services freely to all who enter our doors.  Our mission is to equip individuals to choose life affirming values for themselves, their pregnancies and their relationships.

Volunteer Supported: The employees and volunteers of our community-supported Centers have been effective at impacting lives on a one-on-one basis. We offer practical and spiritual support that has helped many women who are facing a possible planned or unplanned pregnancy. We provide services to every person who comes through our doors and serve every man, woman or child without regard to finances, religion or socio-economic status. Our vision is to see lives transformed and we accomplish that through one-on-one personal relationships with our clients.

Our Clients: Men and women utilize the services of the Pregnancy Resource Center.  The women facing unplanned pregnancies represent a wide variety of demographics. She might be homeless or live with her parents, she may be working or looking for work, happy to be pregnant or still unsure, 14 years old or 45, fearful, joyful, nervous, desperate or crying, we see them all.  Her pregnancy may be planned or unplanned. Whether she visits a center in Bend, Madras, Prineville or Redmond she will receive a warm, friendly welcome without being judged. All clients will be listened to with compassion and she will receive truthful, accurate and complete information. Without regard to the pregnancy decision, we are here to support and encourage our clients as they enter the next phase of life. We do not offer, recommend or refer for abortions, the abortion pill, abortifacients or contraceptives.

Our Services: All of our services are offered free of charge. We offer medical grade pregnancy testing, limited obstetrical ultrasounds, prenatal vitamins, options consultations, parenting education and resources for medical and community services.  We provide information on sexually transmitted infections, food, clothing and supplies for mom and baby. For the men who are looking for direction during this season of their lives, we have a Fatherhood Coaching program that provides a safe place to ask questions and prepare for the changes that come with being a father. Every person who walks in the door of a Pregnancy Resource Center will have the opportunity to receive ongoing emotional support and spiritual encouragement that will give them the ability to continue making wise decisions for the future. One of our clients said it best, “You were there when I had nowhere else to go.  You helped me think through all my options and allowed me to see that I could really do this”.

Our Finances: The Pregnancy Resource Centers of Central Oregon is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is under the governance of a Board of Directors. We do not take money from the local, state or federal government that would limit our ability to share the gospel, but are fully financed through the monthly pledges of our regular donors and the special gifts we receive from businesses or others.
